Press and hold the reset button on the back of the Sure Signal, plug in the power cable keeping the reset button held in until lights 1,2,3,4 flash in order then release button.
If the Sure Signal begins a constant flashing light sequence it is likely performing a software update.
What’s happening behind the scenes
Once the lights have flashed in order and the reset button released, the unit will then begin to boot.
The device first makes a DHCP request. Once IP is assigned, then will then attempt to resolve initial-ipsecrouter.vap.vodafone.co.uk and initiate a connection.
The Sure Signal will then begin negotiation with the provisioning server, and lights 1,3 and 1,2,3 will flash to indicate that the software is being downloaded, a tunnel is established to 212.183.133.178 this procedure can take anything up to two hours to complete.
Once the procedure is complete, lights 1,2,3,4 will flash to indicate that the process is complete.
The unit will reboot and should now follow the happy path.

This is fantastic! At last an explanation of what’s going on behind the scenes – here and i the Activation section of Diagnostics.
Would you be kind enough to describe Factory Resetting for the SureSignal V2 as the reset button on this model is so fiddly and there are only two lights to flash.
It is hard to know whether you have really pressed the reset button with a biro, paperclip or pin as the button floats around inside the access hole …. tyherefor i would be nice to know what the behaviour of the lights should be if one has successfully reset the device.
